Best Cars of 2014...

Anyone who loves automobiles will tell you how exciting new launches can get. It's like falling in love all over again. US automobile enthusiasts aren't easily satiated with facelifts and re launches. We need something concrete, something we haven't seen before on the road. Here are five automotive cars that are best cars in the world that will change the way we travel in the upcoming year. These launches have been shortlisted from a gamut of new automotive cars we saw on display at the Delhi Auto Expo.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio
I am not sure if Maruti Suzuki Celerio was the most awaited car of the year, but one can already bet one's money that this will be the most sold car. After all, the Celerio is the next-generation of the A-Star, which was the next-generation of the Alto. The Celerio both automatic and manual transmission, will have a significant advantage over the A-Star or the Alto. Firstly it looks much more aerodynamic, lending it the sportier look currently inconspicuous in this segment. Secondly, the new grille extending into the headlamps will add to its style quotient. Of course, the automatic transmission and more spacious interiors are some other factors which would make
you want to own one. Unfortunately, there won't be any diesel variant at the moment.

Hyundai Xcent- The sedan is named like a hipster rap-artist, but it's a vanilla as it gets in design. The upside is it doesn't look like the outdated boredom called the Accent. Hyundai Xcent is basically the Grand i10 with a boot thrown in. Much like what the Dzire is to the Swift or the Etios is to the Liva, ot the Amaze is to the Brio. This car will give the C-segment a much-needed break from the Dzire and the Amaze. In terms of the engine variants, the Xcent will borrow the 1.4 litre diesel from the i20 and the 1.2 litre kappa petrol from the i10.

Renault GO
Post reviving its sub-brand Datsun, Renault is aiming for young achievers in the high growth
market, pretty much like everyone else, with their entry level hatch called GO. The GO has an uncanny resemblance to the Micra, while the rear has taken a leaf out of the Fabia. The hatch's hexagonal honeycomb grille is the car's unique identity in an otherwise fused design. The Datsun GO, with its 1.2 litre petrol engine, has created a lot of excitement already because of it's competitive pricing and the car next-door design. This has to be the underdog of the year.

Audi A3
Following in the footsteps of BMW and Mercedes, Audi is also aiming to make further inroads into the Indian car market with an affordable sedan. Of course, when we say affordable you still have to spend over Rs 25 Lakh for this one. Even Though this automotive car is more conservative in dimension than the A4, mainly due to its couple-like exteriors, the middle-class Audi A3 is powerful enough to get you the respect which is reserved only for the four rings. Sadly, the A3 in India won't be an all-wheel drive, though 168 horses of power with the 1.8 litre petrol engine and 141 horses of power with the 2.0 litre diesel engine would make up for the absence of the Quattro system. All these things make this car the best car of India and best automotive car of the world.

BMW i8
Talking about supercars, it doesn't get any more sci-fi than the BMW i8. Its a sports car an its a Hybrid! The first glimpse at the automotive car - low ground clearance, long wheelbase, short overhangs, the excessive wedge shape, the illusionary long drawn outlines and the flat silhouette- makes you wonder who made this automotive car leave the runway. The unfortunate bit of the news is, there will only be eight i8s that will be on sale in India this year.
