The Amazing Spider-Man 2: An action-packed 3D journey to save New York City from Villains

Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and was announced way back in 2011. The movie is released by Columbia Pictures and is an American superhero film based on Spider-Man, a Marvel Comic’s character. Written by James Vanderbilt, the movie features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, and Dane DeHaan in lead roles. Campbell Scott, Colm Feore, Embeth Davidtz, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field star have also outdone their characters, which supports the entire plot.

The Screenplay has beautiful views of the New York City and the movie is scheduled to be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on May 2, 2014 in the United States. Filled with high-energy action, surprising web swings, excellent timing, and many unpredictable turns, the film is a fleshed-out sequel history of movies based on instances from comic-books.

Beautifully set in the background of science and fiction, the entire film is based on a plot where Scientist Richard Parker records a video message to explain his disappearance. Later, the scientist and his wife, were hijacked in a private jet that was driven by Richard’s assistant. With the pilot dead, the plane crashes and the scientists’ family go missing. The plot is then shifted to the present situation, where Richard's son -Peter as Spider-Man continues to combat the battle against various crimes in the city.

Jamie Foxx plays Max Dillon, the big bad guy working in electrical-engineering company-Oscorp, who accidentally falls into a tank of genetically-modified electric eels and later becomes ‘Electro,’ the voltage-shooting villain. Foxx clearly says that his character is highly idolized by Spider-Man and he obtains his powers through an accident at Oscorp involving electric eels. The fight scenes are beautifully screened by using incandescent blue rays and lights that create a fantastic experience in theatres. Foxx's performance is commendable and is swaddled in special effects that make it look more dramatic and scary.

Garfield is great as Parker and Spider-Man, while Harry Osborn (as Dane DeHaan), shows some promise as a character. Parker is too old to be accepted as a convincing high-school senior, but the superbly written script allows the audience to connect with the pace of the movie irrespective of the age of this actor. It’s quite disappointing that the highlights can't make up for the low points, however, the special effects in 3D will amuse the viewers on a greater front.

The charming and charismatic interaction between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone adds an occasional flash of excitement in its wide action packed sequel.  The movie has many villains, stories, instances, and too many climaxes that might confuse you for a minute. However, a two-and-a-half-hour running time movie can be watched for one of the best spider-web based swings, fight scenes, and serious incidents that might surprise you.

So what are you waiting for? Pre-book your seats in the theaters for this ever-exciting sequel that won’t disappoint you on entertainment, action and special effects front.
