Lagoon-filled dunes in Lençois Maranhenses National Park
Covering around 1500 sq km of north-eastern Brazil, Lagoon-filled dunes initially appears to be a desert like place. The place is an amazing ecosystem formed of white sand dunes and is a huge public attraction for visitors travelling to Brazil for the first time. Being located in the proximity to the Amazon basin, the area doesn’t receive much rainfall and that has forced the nature to transform this area into a beautiful bed sheet like appearance. The site features seasonal lagoons that are filled up with rainwater and travelers are recommended to visit the site during the first six months of the year. Lagoa Bonita, Lagoa Tropical, and Lagoa Azul are some of the most prominent lagoons of the region and are worth visiting.

Sugarloaf mountain
This site is located at a height of around 1,299ft above the Rio’s harbor and can be reached either by  a cable car or by trekking down to the peak. Counted amongst one of several granite and quartz mountains located around the city, the peak can be reached within six minutes by cable car and will take around 3 hours on foot. The site derives its name from the shape of the mountain that exactly looks like the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar. It is an ideal destination for trek lovers and rock climbers as the entire journey will  ze filled with beautiful and well protected face climbing areas, a classic runout track, and traditional bolted climbing areas.
