HOME REMEDIES FOR COUGH, COLD AND SORE THROAT

COMMON COLD
A common cold is a minor disease that consists of a slight infection of the upper respiratory tract. This is often experienced by many people. A person with a cold will experience stuffy nose, constant sneezing, and headaches. Here are some great home remedies that can immediately relieve you from this illness.

Home remedies for Common Cold
  •  Drink a warm glass of lime juice every morning and every night.
  •  Eat some garlic soup once a day can quickly get rid of your colds.
  •  Drink a cup of ginger tea twice a day. You can also eat it raw by slicing a piece of fresh ginger and  suck it like a candy.
  •  Immerse yourself in a warm bath for fifteen minutes to unclog your nose.
  • Breathe in some steam by mixing boiling water with eucalyptus oil or camphor.
  • Mix two hundred grams of coriander seeds and jiggery. Make it into a powder. Add a little ater to form a paste. Boil this in water and deeply inhale the steam for fifteen minutes.
CLOGGED NOSE
A clogged nose is often caused by congested sinus and/or nasal passages resulting to an unfavorable experience that includes difficulties in breathing through the nose, sniffles, headaches, runny nose, and a slight fever. Here are some great known remedies that you can quickly do at home.
 
Home remedies for Clogged Nose
  • Mix half a tablespoon of salt in half cup of water. Wrap a tooth pick with cotton, dip it in the solution, and smear it inside your nostrils. Make sure you use a separate clean toothpick for each nostril.
  • Prepare a solution of a teaspoon of salt and a cup of boiling water. Place the liquid in a sterile container. Using a dropper, place a few drops of the solution in each nostril until you taste the saltiness in your throat. Wash your mouth and throat to get rid of the saltiness.
  • Spicy food is a great decongestant so make sure you eat a lot of peppers and chillis to get your nose flowing.
  • Combine some lemon juice, Tulsi, and ginger juice in equal amount. Add a tablespoon of honey. Mix thoroughly. Eat this solution twice a day until your nose clears.
  • Put a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil or tea tree oil in boiling water. Deeply inhale the steam for fifteen to thirty minutes before going to sleep.
  •  Drink lots of warm water and fresh citrus juices to keep your sinus moist and hydrated.
  •  Crush a couple of menthol leaves and inhale it all throughout the day.
  •  Put a warm compress on your face to alleviate your clogged nose.

    COUGH
    A cough is a physiological mechanism through which the lungs rid themselves of contaminant and other foreign bodies. A cough can also be a symptom of a range of other diseases. It is crucial that you do not ignore this condition, no matter how mild it is, so as not to progress into a much worse predicament.
 
        Home remedies for Cough
  •  Place a tablespoon of salt and a small quantity of bicarbonate of soda in half a glass of water. Gargle this for five minutes.
  • Drink tea made from an infusion of thyme.
  • Soak almonds in water overnight. Peel, grind and add a little sugar and butter. Eat two tablespoons every time you have dry cough.
  •  Boil some fresh mullein leaves and breathe in the fumes. Good for a cough and a blocked nose. However, this method is not safe for nursing mothers, pregnant women, and those who have cancer. Make sure you do not intake the seeds as well since they are poisonous.
  • Eat three cloves of garlic twice a day.
  •  Sooth your throat by preparing some fresh basil leaves in boiling water. Let it steep for fifteen minutes. Drink a cup of this tea every after meals.
  •  Drink some freshly squeezed lemon juice with honey is great relief on cough.
  •  Prepare one teaspoon of Marjoram, put it in boiling water, and let it simmer for ten minutes. Drink this mixture four times a day.
  •  Add a pinch of white finely grounded pepper in a tablespoon of honey. Drink this three times a day for one week.
  •  Gargle with fresh spinach juice once in the morning and once before going to sleep.
 




SORE THROAT
A throat infection is an inflammation of the pharynx that can also include an inflammation of the tonsils. The most common cause of inflammation is a viral infection. Another possible reason is bacterial infection caused by smoke, air pollution, or chemicals that have been swallowed.
 
Home remedies for Sore Throat
  •  Drink tea with brandy.
  •  Gargle a cup of warm water and two tablespoons of iodized salt for a few minutes.
  •  Mix apple vinegar, honey, and hot water. Drink this mixture twice a day.
  •  Squeeze an onion and drink the juice once a day.
  •  Combine fenugreek seeds in a cup of hot water. Let it steep for five to ten minutes. Drink this tea thrice a day.
  •  Add three garlic cloves in water. Let it boil and simmer for ten minutes. Drink a cup of this solution three times a day.
  • Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey in a glass of warm water. Drink one cup of this mixture three times a day.
  •  Make a sage tea by boiling dried sage leaves in water for ten minutes. Drink one cup of this tea twice a day.
